The Bosworth Group Advertising Marketing Public Relations

Social Media and Networking

Ah, Social Media... what is it and how does it fit into the scheme of advertising and public relations?

Social media is typically user-generated. You or we submit online news releases, begin a blog or add to one, post a video or podcast, provide a live chat from your site, create a Twitter or Facebook page, add a Wikipedia reference (wiki) or RSS Feed to or from your site.

Why? Because the worldwide web has become a social forum for people to share interests, stories, publicize arts, meet people and, for our clients, attract more business. These are not cheap or quick fixes for rapid growth. Rather, they are vehicles to communicate which require time and patience to grow interest.

The benefits of social media include links and backlinks to your website, heightened awareness of your product or service, an opportunity to interact with your prospects and customers online, attract new customers, grow existing business, start a viral marketing campaign which may achieve all of the above.

Social media strategies are not right for every client but they are certainly worth considering as part of your marketing mix.
